A single-chamber breeding net works well for isolating fry, but it does nothing to stop the mother eating the next batch the moment she is put back with them. Absolute Breeder Net Large “Double side” (SKU: NB3202A) is the larger, two-chamber version of Absolute’s hang-on breeding net, built with a central mesh partition so an adult livebearer and her newly dropped fry can share the same hanging enclosure on opposite sides of the divider rather than being placed in separate nets. Both chambers use the same fine mesh as the single-sided net, so water, temperature and oxygen stay consistent with the main tank while still keeping the two groups physically apart. The larger frame holds more water volume than the Small net, which suits a bigger female or a larger brood without crowding.

In use, the net hangs over the tank rim the same way as the smaller size, with the frame resting on the glass and the mesh body submerged. The female is placed on one side before she drops her fry, and the mesh partition stops her reaching through to eat them as they fall to the far compartment; once finished, she can be lifted out through the open top and returned to the main tank, leaving the fry to grow on their own side. The layout also suits holding two separate small fish, or fry of different ages, side by side without mixing them. As with the Small net, fry are moved to a grow-out tank once large enough to be safe in the main aquarium. The smaller, single-chamber Absolute Breeder Net Small (NB3201) covers lighter-duty separation where a divider is not needed.

How to Use

• Hang the net over the rim: Rest the frame on the tank edge with both chambers submerged.
• Place the adult on one side: Net the gravid female gently into the chamber away from where fry will collect.
• Let the partition do the work: Fry pass through to the far side where the adult cannot reach them.
• Remove the adult, then release fry: Lift the adult out once finished, and move grown fry to a grow-out tank.
