Description
Aqua Medic Coral Construct 20g — Cyanoacrylate coral glue that bonds frags, rock and broken corals even under water
A frag that keeps rolling off the rock and a branch snapped during a clean-up both need fixing quickly, ideally without taking anything out of the water. Aqua Medic Coral Construct 20g (SKU: AM42070) is the 20 g pack of Aqua Medic’s glue for attaching stones and corals in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Aqua Medic names three jobs for it: fixing loose rock, securing invertebrates that grow on small rock pieces, and repairing broken hard corals. It is a cyanoacrylate glue, ethyl 2-cyanoacrylate according to Aqua Medic’s safety information, the same superglue chemistry reef keepers use widely for fragging, and Aqua Medic states that it can be used under water without problems.
Cyanoacrylate cures by reacting with moisture, so it grabs quickly once it meets water, and the bond is strongest when both surfaces are clean and pressed firmly together. For frags, a small amount on the base of the coral or plug, pressed onto the rock and held for a moment, is usually enough; a thin, even contact does more than a single thick blob. Rock-to-rock joins hold most firmly when the contact faces are cleaned of algae first and pressed together for half a minute or so. Aqua Medic’s safety statements need to be followed: the glue bonds skin and eyes in seconds, so wear protective gloves, clothing and eye protection, keep it away from children, and work outdoors or in a well-ventilated room when gluing out of the water. If any gets into the eyes, rinse cautiously with water for several minutes and call a poison centre or doctor if feeling unwell. Replace the cap straight after use and store the pack cool and dry.
Usage & Application
When to Use
- Mounting frags: Fixing coral fragments to plugs, discs or rock.

How to Use
- Prepare the surfaces: Clean algae and film from both contact areas.
- Apply sparingly: A small amount on the coral base or the rock face.
- Press and hold: Push firmly into place and hold until the glue grabs.
