Gluing a holder into a running aquarium means draining the overflow and waiting for adhesive to cure, which is rarely convenient. Aqua Medic Overflow Comb 50 Including Clip (SKU: AM41808) is Aqua Medic’s 50 cm overflow comb with long, rounded teeth that attaches directly to the overflow glass with the clips supplied, for glass 6 to 8 mm thick. Once clipped along the top edge, it lets water flow evenly into the overflow chamber while fish, plant matter and coarse detritus stay on the display side. There is no holder to glue in, so the comb can be fitted, moved along the edge or taken off for cleaning at any time.

This is the clip-only version of the 50 cm comb: the same long comb with teeth of about 3.7 cm, without the glue-in pocket that comes with the holder-and-clip version. The 50 cm length covers a wide weir or a long overflow edge in one piece, and the long rounded teeth create a deep slotted band that draws surface water evenly across the full width, helping to clear the surface film while the water level in the display settles within the teeth. For overflow walls of 10 to 12 mm, Aqua Medic’s 40 cm comb with clips is made for that thicker glass. Over time, algae and coralline narrow the slots between the teeth, so unclipping the comb every few weeks and brushing it under running water keeps the flow even and the display level steady.
