Quantum Small Disc Frag Plug – 50 Pack

Description

Quantum Small Disc Frag Plug 50 Pack — Bulk 30 mm Ceramic Discs for Frag Racks and Rock Mounting

Fifty flat discs cover a lot of fragging. Quantum Small Disc Frag Plug 50 Pack (SKU: QA700350) is the bulk pack of the Reef Essential 30 mm ceramic disc, aimed at reef keepers who mount corals every week rather than every few months: propagation racks, club frag nights, or a shop system where each new arrival is cut and remounted. Each disc has the coarse top face that the range is known for, and no stem, so it sits flat on egg-crate, on a rock ledge or directly on the sand of a frag tank.

The ceramic is ICP-OES analysed by batch, which is the reason these discs skip the curing stage that cement plugs need. Open the pack, glue, and mount. The 30 mm diameter is a deliberate middle size: wide enough for a zoanthid patch or an encrusting frag to fill out over a few months, small enough that fifty of them still fit on a modest rack. When a coral reaches the rim, the whole disc glues onto the display rock and vanishes under new tissue, so nothing needs cutting free.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• High-volume propagation: Keeps a grow-out rack supplied through a full season of cutting without a mid-season reorder.
• Stemless racks and shelves: Flat discs suit trays, ledges and egg-crate laid flat, where a stem has nowhere to go.
• Spreading corals: Zoanthids, mushrooms, montipora and chalice frags grow evenly over a disc.
• Frag sales and swaps: Uniform discs present neatly on a sales rack and stack in transport containers without tangling.

How to Use

• No curing: Use straight from the pack; a rinse in tank water is optional, and there is no soaking or leaching period.
• Blot before gluing: A dry disc face and a dry frag base give coral glue a proper bond instead of a skin over a water film.
• Small bead, firm press: Hold the frag on the textured surface for a few seconds until the glue grips.
• Anchor against flow: Place the disc where a wavemaker cannot roll it, or glue it down to the rack or rock once the coral is attached.

Product Specifications & Highlights

Key Features

• Fifty-disc pack: Bulk quantity for propagation racks, frag events and retail systems, so plugs are never rationed.
• 30 mm diameter: A wide, flat face for corals that spread rather than branch.
• Stemless design: Sits flat on trays, ledges and sand wherever a stemmed plug would have nothing to seat into.
• ICP-OES analysed: Every batch is laboratory-tested for contaminants, which is why no curing period is needed.
• Textured surface: Holds glue at mounting time and encourages tissue to encrust across the face.
