Large discus systems and planted Amazon displays change a lot of RO water, and each litre of it needs its small measure of carbonate hardness. Quantum Amazon River KH Conditioner 1L (SKU: QA321000) is the litre size of Quantum’s Amazon River KH Pro, a solution of safe KH salts in deionised water formulated to raise KH gently to the level found in Amazon rivers. A modest KH keeps pH from fluctuating, and stable pH keeps the fish’s biochemistry working as it should. Quantum pairs it with Amazon River pH Pro and Amazon River Pro Salt GH so pH and general hardness are handled at the same time.
The dose is 10 mL per 100 L for a 0.5 dKH rise, against a recommended range of 0.5 to 2 dKH, and only the replacement volume is dosed at a change. On a 600 L discus system changing 150 L a week to 1.5 dKH, each change takes 45 mL and a litre lasts about twenty-two weeks; a planted 400 L tank at 1 dKH uses less again. The half-degree step suits soft-water keepers who would rather make several small adjustments than one large one.

- New water only: Never dose for the whole tank at a change; the water already in it is at target.
