Amazon water is soft, but soft is not the same as unbuffered, and a tank with zero carbonate hardness will crash its pH the first time the filter falls behind. Quantum Amazon River KH Conditioner 250ml (SKU: QA320250) is Quantum’s Amazon River KH Pro, a solution of safe KH salts in deionised water formulated to raise carbonate hardness gently to the low level Amazon species prefer. With a little KH in place the pH stops swinging, and the biochemical processes the fish depend on carry on undisturbed. It is designed to be used with Amazon River pH Pro and Amazon River Pro Salt GH.
The dose is 10 mL per 100 L for a rise of 0.5 dKH, half the step of Quantum’s hard-water buffers, because the recommended range for Amazon tanks is only 0.5 to 2 dKH. At a water change only the replacement volume is dosed. A 200 L tetra and apistogramma tank changing 50 L a week from RO water to 1.5 dKH uses 15 mL, so the 250 mL bottle covers about sixteen changes, which makes it a sensible first size for a soft-water community or a breeding pair.

Dosing & Administration Guide
- Aim low: Quantum’s Amazon range is 0.5 to 2 dKH; pick a point and hold it at every change.
- 10 mL per 100 L per 0.5 dKH: Double the millilitres for a full degree.
- Condition the change water: Dose the new water only, then carry on with the change.
- Complete the triad: Amazon River pH Pro for pH and Amazon River Pro Salt GH for general hardness.
