RO water is a blank page, and Amazon fish still need a little calcium and magnesium written on it. Quantum Amazon River MPMC GH 250ml (SKU: QA340250) is Quantum’s Amazon River Pro Salt GH, a solution of major, minor and trace elements in deionised water that gently raises general hardness in the ideal ratio to replicate Amazon river water. Fish take up much of what they need directly from the water, so the elements must be bioavailable, and the formula also carries macrobiotics, probiotics and vitamin precursors for beneficial bacteria and fish vitality. It works alongside Amazon River pH Pro and KH Pro.

The dose is 10 mL per 100 L for a rise of 0.5 dGH, and Quantum’s recommended range for Amazon tanks is a soft 1 to 3 dGH. Dose the replacement water only when changing water. A 200 L tetra tank changing 50 L a week from RO water to 2 dGH uses 20 mL, so the 250 mL bottle covers about twelve changes. The half-degree step is deliberate: soft-water fish want minerals present, not abundant, and small doses make that easy to hold.
