A 20 L shrimp cube or a betta tank on RO water needs its minerals put back in drops, not capfuls. Quantum Aqua Pro GH 100ml (SKU: QA420100) is the nano size of Quantum’s Freshwater Essential Plant Essential Aqua Pro GH, a solution of bioavailable magnesium and calcium with trace elements in deionised water, formulated to raise general hardness gently and supply the major, minor and trace elements that the biochemical processes of fish, shrimp and plants depend on. Quantum rates it for every type of freshwater aquarium, planted, fish-only, shrimp and pond, on the strength of its purity and balanced formulation.

The 100 mL bottle is dosed at 8 drops per 10 L to raise general hardness by about 1 dGH, with 20 drops making roughly 1 mL. The dose is added directly into high water flow without shaking, and at a water change only the replacement volume is treated; the manufacturer is specific that it is not used when topping up evaporation. Quantum publishes a target for every kind of tank, from 1 to 3 dGH for South American species through 4 to 8 dGH for community and shrimp tanks to 7 to 12 dGH for Tanganyika. It cannot be used on a dosing pump.

When to Use

• Nano tanks on RO or rainwater: Shrimp cubes, betta tanks and small planted set-ups that need minerals restored.
• Shrimp moulting problems: Neocaridina and caridina tanks where low GH shows up as failed moults.
• Small water changes: Remineralising a few litres at a time by the drop.
• Any freshwater type: Planted, fish-only, shrimp and pond systems, matched to Quantum’s GH table.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Pick the target: Use Quantum’s table, for example 4 to 8 dGH for shrimp and community tanks or 5 to 8 dGH for high-tech planted tanks.
• 8 drops per 10 L per 1 dGH: Count the drops for the litres of new water and the rise wanted.
• Into high flow, no shaking: Add to the change water or straight into circulation; never dose for evaporation top-ups.
• Not for pumps: Hand dosing only; pair with Aqua Pro KH for carbonate hardness.
