Remineralising 125 L of RO every week is a litre-bottle job, whichever kind of freshwater tank it is for. Quantum Aqua Pro GH 1L (SKU: QA421000) is the litre size of Quantum’s Freshwater Essential Plant Essential Aqua Pro GH, a solution of bioavailable magnesium and calcium with trace elements in deionised water that raises general hardness gently and provides the major, minor and trace elements fish, shrimp and plants need. Because the formula is pure and balanced it suits all freshwater aquarium types, and Quantum’s GH table gives a target for each of them.

The dose is a capful of about 10 mL per 100 L for a rise of roughly 2.5 dGH, added into high water flow without shaking. Only the replacement water is dosed at a change, and the product is not used for evaporation top-ups. Targets run from 1 to 3 dGH for South American species to 7 to 12 dGH for Tanganyika, with community, shrimp and high-tech planted tanks at 4 to 8. On a 500 L display changing 125 L a week from RO to 5 dGH, each change uses 25 mL and a litre covers about forty changes. It cannot be run on a dosing pump.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Set the GH: From Quantum’s table for the tank type, after testing.
• Calculate: 10 mL per 100 L for each 2.5 dGH of rise, on the litres remineralised.
• Treat the new water: Into the change barrel or into high flow; never for evaporation.
• KH alongside: Aqua Pro KH keeps carbonate hardness in step.
