Quantum AR Phosphate Remover 250ml — Lanthanum Phosphate Binder for Small Reef and Marine Aquariums

Granular phosphate media works slowly and needs a reactor; lanthanum works in hours and needs only a bottle. Quantum AR Phosphate Remover 250ml (SKU: QA150250) is a solution of purified lanthanum in deionised water that binds ionic and chemically bound phosphate and precipitates it, so the filter removes what the algae would otherwise have eaten. The 250 mL bottle is dosed in millilitres per 100 L and suits reefs and fish-only tanks up to a couple of hundred litres, across LPS, mixed, SPS, NPS and FOWLR systems.

The dosing table runs on the phosphate reading, from 0.1 to 1.0 mL per 100 L daily at 0.03 to 0.25 ppm up to 10 mL per 100 L above 10 ppm, with the middle rows listed in the details below. The solution is added directly into high water flow and is compatible with dosing pumps. Quantum’s overdose signal is a fine white film forming on the glass, which means the dose should come down, and the product is not to be used in aquariums containing live plants. Regular testing keeps the dose in step with the falling level.

• Measure phosphate: Pick the row in the table and begin at the lower figure for that range.
• High-flow addition: Pour the daily amount into strong circulation, or run it on a dosing pump.
• Check for film: A fine white haze on the glass is the overdose signal; reduce the dose.
• Step down with the reading: Retest often and move to a lower row as phosphate drops; never use with live plants.
