Quantum Aragonite A 1L — Litre Bottle of Liquid Calcium Supplement for Mid-Size Reef Aquariums

When a reef’s calcium demand climbs past what a 500 mL bottle covers comfortably, the litre is the next step, and Quantum Aragonite A 1L (SKU: QA101000) is the calcium part of the three-part Aragonite system at that size. It is a solution of calcium, strontium and barium in deionised water, the elements that make up aragonite skeleton, and it is meant to be dosed alongside Aragonite B for alkalinity and Aragonite C for magnesium. Each 1 mL per 100 L raises calcium by about 2 ppm, the same as the smaller bottles.

Quantum’s calcium target is 405 to 440 ppm, held by dosing 0.5 to 1.0 mL per 100 L daily and adjusting from weekly tests. The capful holds 10 mL. Two points of handling apply across the Aragonite A range: do not shake the bottle, and dose into high flow so the calcium is dispersed before it encounters the alkalinity part. The solution runs well through a dosing pump, which is how most litre-sized bottles end up being used. At 0.75 mL per 100 L a litre supports a 300 L reef for around fifteen months, or a 400 L system for nearly a year.

When to Use

• Mid-sized reef systems: LPS, mixed and SPS tanks from about 200 to 400 L.

• Growing stony coral collections: Tanks whose calcium draw has increased as colonies matured.
• Three-part converts: Keepers moving from two-part to separate control of calcium, alkalinity and magnesium.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Measure, then dose: Set between 0.5 and 1.0 mL per 100 L per day according to how fast calcium falls between tests.
• No shaking: Pour or pump from the bottle without agitating it.
• Into strong flow: Add where circulation is highest, keeping Aragonite B and C dose points separate.
• Test weekly: Keep calcium at 405 to 440 ppm; 1 mL per 100 L equals about 2 ppm.
