A nano reef with a few LPS colonies consumes calcium slowly enough that a small bottle lasts a long time, and Quantum Aragonite A 250ml (SKU: QA100250) is sized for exactly that. It is the calcium part of Quantum’s three-part Aragonite system, a solution of calcium, strontium and barium in deionised water, made to be dosed alongside Aragonite B for alkalinity and Aragonite C for magnesium. Each millilitre per 100 L raises calcium by about 2 ppm, which is strong enough to correct a shortfall in a few doses and fine enough to hold a small tank steady day to day.

Quantum’s target for calcium is 405 to 440 ppm, and the daily rate runs from 0.5 to 1.0 mL per 100 L depending on how much the corals consume. The bottle’s capful holds 10 mL. Two handling notes matter: the solution should not be shaken before use, and it should be added into high flow so it disperses before it meets the alkalinity part. It is also suitable for dosing pumps, which for a nano usually means a small single-head unit. At 0.75 mL per 100 L a 250 mL bottle covers a 60 L reef for about eighteen months.

When to Use

• Nano reefs: Tanks under about 100 L with LPS, mixed or SPS corals and a modest calcium draw.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Test calcium first: Begin at 0.5 mL per 100 L per day and work up towards 1.0 mL as consumption dictates.
• Do not shake: Pour or draw the dose from the bottle without agitating it.
• Dose into flow: Add where water movement is strongest, separately from Aragonite B and C.
• Retest weekly: Aim for 405 to 440 ppm; each 1 mL per 100 L is roughly 2 ppm.
