Three-part dosing gives a reef keeper separate control over calcium, alkalinity and magnesium, and Quantum Aragonite A 500ml (SKU: QA100500) is the calcium control. The solution carries calcium along with strontium and barium in deionised water, the trio that corals lay down as aragonite skeleton, and it is formulated to be dosed with Aragonite B and Aragonite C so each parameter can be trimmed on its own. At 1 mL per 100 L raising calcium by around 2 ppm, the 500 mL bottle suits a small to mid-sized reef with a moderate calcium demand.

The target Quantum sets is 405 to 440 ppm, held with a daily dose of 0.5 to 1.0 mL per 100 L that is adjusted from weekly tests. The capful on this bottle holds 10 mL. The solution is not to be shaken, and it should be added into high flow so it is diluted before it reaches the alkalinity part, which avoids precipitation at the dose point. Dosing pumps are fine. At 0.75 mL per 100 L a 500 mL bottle keeps a 150 L reef supplied for about fifteen months, or a 300 L tank for roughly seven.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Start with a reading: Set the daily dose between 0.5 and 1.0 mL per 100 L based on tested consumption.
• Leave the bottle unshaken: Draw the dose gently rather than agitating the solution.
• High flow, separate points: Dose into strong water movement and away from where Aragonite B and C are added.
• Weekly adjustment: Hold 405 to 440 ppm, remembering that each 1 mL per 100 L moves calcium about 2 ppm.
