Even a slow-moving parameter adds up across a 1,000 L system, and a 5 L container is the practical way to keep the magnesium line filled. Quantum Aragonite C 5L (SKU: QA121010) is the magnesium part of Quantum’s three-part Aragonite system in its bulk size, a solution of magnesium, sulphate and trace elements in deionised water, dosed alongside Aragonite A (calcium) and Aragonite B (alkalinity). Each 1 mL per 100 L raises magnesium by about 1 ppm, a maintenance rate intended to replace daily consumption, and Quantum’s published range is 1,230 to 1,310 ppm. Large reefs, shops and coral farms buy this size.
The daily rate is 0.5, 0.75 or 1.0 mL per 100 L for light, moderate or heavy stocking, so a 1,000 L system at the moderate rate uses 7.5 mL a day and gets close to two years from the container. The rate is set by testing and adjusted in small steps, with a test every week or two once settled. The solution runs on a dosing pump, drawn straight from the container into the magnesium line, and enters high flow away from the calcium and alkalinity lines. A large shortfall is restored over several days because the effect per millilitre is modest.

Dosing & Administration Guide
- Rate by test: 0.5 mL per 100 L to start, 0.75 or 1.0 mL if the reading keeps falling.
- Draw from the container: Feed the doser line directly rather than decanting.
- Separate outlet: Into high flow, away from the A and B dose points.
- Fortnightly test: Hold magnesium between 1,230 and 1,310 ppm; correct shortfalls over several days.
