Magnesium is the parameter that lets the other two be held in range: with it where it should be, calcium and alkalinity can both sit high without precipitating. Quantum Aragonite C 500ml (SKU: QA120500) is the magnesium part of Quantum’s three-part Aragonite system, a solution of magnesium, sulphate and trace elements in deionised water, dosed alongside Aragonite A (calcium) and Aragonite B (alkalinity). Each 1 mL per 100 L raises magnesium by about 1 ppm, a maintenance rate meant to replace daily consumption. Quantum’s published range is 1,230 to 1,310 ppm, and the 500 mL bottle suits home reefs of 100 to 200 L.
The daily rate is 0.5, 0.75 or 1.0 mL per 100 L for light, moderate or heavy stocking, set by testing: start low and increase only if the reading keeps falling. A fortnightly test is usually enough once the dose is settled. The solution can run on a dosing pump and goes into a high-flow area at its own dose point, separate from the calcium and alkalinity lines. A reading well below range is brought back over a number of days because the effect per millilitre is modest. At 0.75 mL per 100 L a 500 mL bottle supplies a 150 L reef for around fifteen months.

Dosing & Administration Guide
- Set the rate by test: 0.5 mL per 100 L to begin, 0.75 or 1.0 mL if the reading drops.
- Separate dose point: Into high flow, away from the Aragonite A and B outlets.
- Raise gradually: About 1 ppm per 1 mL per 100 L, so corrections take days, not hours.
- Test every one to two weeks: Hold the reading between 1,230 and 1,310 ppm.
