Quantum Bio-Gen 1L — Litre Bottle of Iodide, Fluoride and Bromide for Large Reef Aquariums

Large reefs use halogens at a rate that makes a litre the sensible size, and Quantum Bio-Gen 1L (SKU: QA191000) is that size in Quantum’s colour range. It is a solution of iodide, fluoride and bromide in deionised water, formulated to intensify white, blue and violet coral colour while helping to reduce bleaching, improve calcification and support natural resistance. The litre is dosed in millilitres per 100 L, carries a 10 mL capful, and is rated for LPS, mixed, SPS and NPS reef systems, where it most often feeds a dosing-pump channel.

Daily dosing is 0.50 mL per 100 L for light stocking, 0.75 mL for moderate and 1.00 mL for heavy. Each 1 mL per 100 L raises total iodine by about 0.02 ppm and the other halogens in proportion, against targets of 0.06 to 0.09 ppm total iodine, 60 to 70 ppm bromine and 1.0 to 1.2 ppm fluorine. Add it directly into high water flow without shaking, by hand or pump. A 500 L reef at the moderate rate uses 3.75 mL a day, so a litre lasts close to nine months, and a 300 L tank more than a year.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Daily rate by stocking: 0.50, 0.75 or 1.00 mL per 100 L.
• Deliver into flow: Through a pump line or by hand into strong circulation; no shaking.
• Test periodically: Hold total iodine at 0.06 to 0.09 ppm; each 1 mL per 100 L adds about 0.02 ppm.
• Revisit as the tank fills in: Step up the rate as coral cover increases and colonies thicken.
