Potassium is the element behind red and pink in many corals, and it falls faster in a small tank than most keepers expect. Quantum Bio-Kalium 100ml (SKU: QA200100) is a solution of ionic and complexed potassium with boron and an energy component in deionised water, formulated to intensify red and pink coral colour. Potassium helps corals transport nutrients, and together with boron it supports the production of aragonite skeleton. The 100 mL bottle is dosed in drops per 50 L for nano reefs, and Quantum rates it for LPS, mixed, SPS and NPS systems.

The daily rate is 5 drops per 50 L for a lightly stocked tank, 7 for moderate and 10 for heavy, with 20 drops making about 1 mL. Each 1 mL per 100 L raises potassium by about 1 ppm and boron in proportion, towards maintenance targets of 375 to 400 ppm potassium and 4 to 5 ppm boron. Add the dose directly into high water flow; shaking is not required, and the solution can be used on a dosing pump. A 100 L nano at 7 drops per 50 L uses 14 drops a day, so the bottle lasts about four and a half months.

When to Use

• Nano reefs: Small LPS, mixed and SPS tanks where drops make a sensible daily dose.
• Dull reds and pinks: Corals whose warm pigments have faded as potassium dropped.
• Low-potassium test results: Tanks reading below 375 ppm on a potassium or ICP test.
• Two-part systems: Set-ups that replace calcium and alkalinity but nothing else.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Select the rate: 5, 7 or 10 drops per 50 L per day by stocking level.
• Into high flow: Add the drops where circulation is strongest; no shaking needed.
• Test potassium: Hold 375 to 400 ppm; 1 mL per 100 L raises it by about 1 ppm, so correct a shortfall gradually.
• Pump optional: Suitable for a small dosing pump once the rate is set.
