A 300 L mixed reef on daily potassium dosing uses roughly 2 mL a day, which makes 500 mL a seven-month supply and the practical size for the tank. Quantum Bio-Kalium 500ml (SKU: QA200500) is a solution of ionic and complexed potassium with boron and an energy component in deionised water, formulated to intensify red and pink coral colour. Potassium helps corals transport nutrients and, with boron, aids the production of aragonite. It is dosed in millilitres per 100 L with a 10 mL capful and rated for LPS, mixed, SPS and NPS systems.

Quantum sets the rate at 0.50, 0.75 or 1.00 mL per 100 L a day, depending on whether stocking is light, moderate or heavy. A millilitre per 100 L lifts potassium by roughly 1 ppm, boron following in proportion, and the maintenance targets are 375 to 400 ppm potassium and 4 to 5 ppm boron. Add it directly into high water flow without shaking, by hand or on a dosing pump. Because the effect per millilitre is modest, a tank that tests well below 375 ppm is brought up over a series of days, then held at the daily rate.
