Quantum Bio-Metals 1L — Litre of Iron and Manganese Supplement for Large Reef Aquariums

Large reefs with a lot of green SPS get through metals steadily, and the litre is the size that keeps a doser channel supplied for most of a year. Quantum Bio-Metals 1L (SKU: QA211000) is a solution of bio-active metals, mainly iron and manganese with trace elements, in deionised water, formulated to intensify green coral colour. Ionic and complexed metals are available at once, while chelated metals release slowly for a consistent supply. It carries a 10 mL capful and is rated for LPS, mixed, SPS and NPS systems.

Per 100 L per day the dose is 0.50 mL for light stocking, 0.75 mL for moderate and 1.00 mL for heavy, on net water volume. One millilitre per 100 L raises iron by approximately 0.01 ppm, other elements in proportion, and the target is 0.005 to 0.015 ppm iron. Add it straight into high flow without shaking, through a pump line or by hand. A 500 L reef at the moderate rate uses 3.75 mL a day, so a litre lasts close to nine months; a 300 L tank runs more than a year.

• Large reef displays: Reefs of 400 L and more where green colonies make up much of the display.
• Dosing-pump reservoirs: A litre that refills the metals channel only a few times a year.
• Green-heavy collections: Displays built around green acropora, chalices and favias.
• Frag systems: Racks where consistent iron keeps young colonies coloured up.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Daily rate: 0.50, 0.75 or 1.00 mL per 100 L by stocking, worked out on net litres after rock and media.
• Into flow: Pump line or hand dose into strong circulation; the bottle needs no shaking.
• Iron in range: 0.005 to 0.015 ppm, at about 0.01 ppm per 1 mL per 100 L, checked by ICP a few times a year.
• Review with growth: Step the rate up as coral cover fills the display.
