High-tech tanks eat phosphate at twice the rate of low-tech ones, and a 200 L injected scape can use 8 mL a day. Quantum Bio-Molecules 500ml (SKU: QA470500) is the 500 mL size of Quantum’s Plant Essential Bio-Molecules, a solution of phosphorus as bioavailable phosphate in deionised water, formulated to increase phosphate safely and stimulate plant growth. Because phosphate is a building block of DNA, proteins and energy-storing molecules, a shortage shows up as stalled growth and algae before anything else, and this bottle is the phosphorus part of Quantum’s NPKFe Enhancers that puts it right.

Dosing per 100 L per day is 1.0, 2.0 or 3.0 mL for light, moderate or heavy planting without CO₂, or 2.0, 4.0 or 6.0 mL with CO₂. Each 1 mL per 100 L raises phosphate by about 0.04 ppm, and the recommended range is 0.15 to 1.0 ppm. The solution is added into high water flow, needs no shaking and runs on a dosing pump. A 200 L moderately planted CO₂ tank uses 8 mL a day, so the bottle lasts about two months; the same tank without CO₂ uses half that and gets four. Bio-Nutrients and Bio-Trace complete the set.

When to Use

• Mid-sized planted tanks: Scapes of 200 to 400 L, especially with CO₂.
• Fast-growing stems: Tanks of rotala, ludwigia and hygrophila that strip phosphate daily.
• Doser channels: A bottle that fills a pump reservoir for the phosphate line for weeks at a time.
• Algae from imbalance: Tanks where phosphate runs out while nitrate stays high.

• Daily into flow: Hand or pump into strong circulation; no shaking needed.
