In a nano planted tank the plants can strip nitrate to zero in a day, and the algae move in the moment they do. Quantum Bio-Nutrients 100ml (SKU: QA480100) is the drop-dosed size of Quantum’s Plant Essential Bio-Nutrients, a solution of nitrate and complexed nitrogen, potassium and sulphate, boron, bioavailable carbon sources, organic acids and natural accelerants in deionised water, formulated as a more complete supplement than a plain nitrate and potassium mix. Quantum’s premise is that plants fed well outcompete algae, and this is the nitrogen and potassium part of its NPKFe Enhancers.

The 100 mL bottle is dosed per 20 L daily at 4, 8 or 12 drops for light, moderate or heavy planting without CO₂, or 8, 16 or 24 drops with CO₂. A millilitre per 100 L lifts nitrate by roughly 0.2 ppm and potassium by roughly 0.15 ppm, and Quantum wants both between 10 and 30 ppm. The solution is added into high water flow without shaking and suits dosing pumps. A 40 L moderately planted low-tech tank uses 16 drops a day and gets about four months from the bottle. Phosphate comes from Bio-Molecules and iron from Bio-Trace.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Nano planted tanks: Scapes under about 60 L dosed by the drop.
• Nitrate at zero: Tanks whose plants have used every trace of nitrogen and started to yellow.
• Potassium deficiency: Pinholes in older leaves, the classic sign of low potassium.
• Completing NPKFe: With Bio-Molecules for phosphate and Bio-Trace for iron and micronutrients.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Test nitrate and potassium: Aim for 10 to 30 ppm of each and note whether the tank runs CO₂.
• Count the drops: Per 20 L each day, 4, 8 or 12 for a low-tech tank or 8, 16 or 24 for an injected one, by planting density.
• Into high flow: No shaking; add where circulation is strongest.
• Adjust weekly: Each 1 mL per 100 L adds about 0.2 ppm nitrate and 0.15 ppm potassium.
