Coral Essentials Calcium Up Powder 3kg

Description

Coral Essentials Calcium Up Powder 3kg — Calcium chloride granules for mixing bulk reef calcium solution at home

Large reefs that dose calcium every day soon find themselves paying to ship water, and mixing from dry salt is the obvious way around it. Coral Essentials Calcium Up Powder 3kg (SKU: CE-CALUP) is a 3 kg bucket of concentrated calcium chloride granules at 94% purity from Coral Essentials’ Primary Care range, sold as a cost-effective way for reef keepers with large tanks to supply calcium. The whole bucket makes 10 L of solution at 100,000 ppm, the same calcium strength as the maker’s ready-mixed Calcium + Trace liquid, so the same dosing figures apply. Mixing instructions are printed on the bucket.

Besides the 100,000 ppm recipe, Coral Essentials says the granules can be made up at 50,000 ppm, to the familiar Randy’s recipe 1 and 2 mixes, or at any strength using the solution calculator on its website. On its own the solution is plain calcium; adding Coral Power Trace A and B turns it into a complete calcium dose with trace elements, matching the premixed product. Dosing then follows the usual route: test calcium regularly, measure how fast the tank uses it and set the dose with the maker’s calculator, rechecking as corals grow. Coral Essentials finds natural seawater levels right for most aquariums, and 430 to 470 ppm desirable for high growth in SPS and hard coral systems.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Large reef systems: High daily calcium demand where liquids become costly.
• Refilling Calcium + Trace: Mixing a matching 100,000 ppm solution at home.
• Randy’s two-part users: A calcium chloride source for recipe 1 or 2.
• Custom strengths: Weaker solutions for nano tanks via the calculator.

Mixing & Application Guide

• Follow the label: Use the bucket’s instructions for the chosen strength.
• Full-bucket batch: All 3 kg makes 10 L at 100,000 ppm, about 300 g per finished litre.
• Mix carefully: Add granules to pure water gradually and stir; the solution warms as it dissolves.
• Add trace if wanted: Coral Power Trace A and B complete the blend.
