Coral Essentials CVE+ 2.75L — Bulk all-in-one coral supplement for large, heavily stocked reef systems

On a large SPS system a daily supplement soon runs to tens of millilitres, and small bottles do not last a month on the doser. Coral Essentials CVE+ 2.75L (SKU: CE-CVE275L) is the largest container of CVE+, Coral Essentials’ all-in-one marine aquarium additive, blended from the maker’s Black Label Chroma+, Vibrance+ and Energy+ into one formula. Coral Essentials states that it keeps the results of the individual bottles in a single dose, targeting colour through Chroma+, activity through Vibrance+ and feeding through Energy+. The 2.75 L size is aimed at large displays and heavily stocked systems where daily volumes are high. Like the rest of the Black Label range it comes from the Brisbane maker and is tested at the Sustainable Reefs coral farm in Cairns.

The maker’s rates are written for heavily stocked aquariums: per 100 L each day, 2 mL for LPS and soft corals, 4 mL for a mixed reef and 6 mL for SPS-dominant systems. A 500 L heavily stocked SPS reef therefore doses 30 mL a day, so this container lasts about three months; a 400 L mixed reef at 16 mL a day gets nearly six. Coral Essentials advises dosing directly out of the CVE+ container on a pump, sterilising any other container first, and never using a clear dosing reservoir because light can affect the product. A sump compartment without light is an alternative, but next to a lit refugium use a dark container or the original. It needs no refrigeration after opening.
