A dusty brown film over the glass, gravel and slower-growing plants is usually diatom algae feeding on silicates leaching out of tap water or the substrate itself. Easy-Life Bio-Exit Silicate 250ml (SKU: 725130) is the 250 mL size of Easy-Life’s silicate remover, a liquid from the Dutch manufacturer Easy-Life International BV that neutralises dissolved silicate so the diatoms feeding on it stop spreading. It works in both freshwater and marine aquariums, which makes a single product useful across different system types in the one shop or household, and the 250 mL bottle suits a single tank worked through more than one treatment cycle. That is enough for a nano tank or small marine set-up to be dosed repeatedly as new silicate enters with top-up water or a substrate change, without needing the larger bottle sizes.
