A fish room measures change water in hundreds of litres a week, and the conditioner has to keep up without becoming a monthly purchase. Quantum Water Primer 1L (SKU: QA011000) treats about 60,000 L at its 1 mL per 60 L water-change rate, which puts a breeder’s rack, a large reef with its sump, or a monster-fish tank on a single bottle for a long time. Alongside chlorine and chloramine removal it detoxifies ammonia, nitrite and nitrate and binds heavy metals, so the litre bottle is also the one that gets reached for when a tank crashes.

Quantum builds the product on deionised water and a blend of removing and detoxifying salts, dosed without shaking into a high-flow area or the mixing barrel. The 10 mL cap gives round numbers: half a cap treats 300 L for a routine change, and 25 mL covers the same volume at the five-times emergency rate used after a death or a pH swing. The label lists freshwater, saltwater and planted aquariums, and states plainly that it cannot be used on a dosing pump, so it belongs at the change barrel rather than the doser.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Standard dose: 1 mL per 60 L of new water, or 5 mL (about half a capful) per 300 L.
• Emergency dose: 5 mL per 60 L, or 25 mL per 300 L, when ammonia or nitrite is detected.
• Heavily chlorinated supply: Double the standard dose for high chlorine or chloramine.
• Adding it: No shaking; add into high flow or the change barrel, based on tank plus filter volume minus rock and media. Not for dosing pumps.
