Red Sea Reef Care Coral Colours Abcd 4 X100ml Bottles Trial Pack (SKU: RED293) holds 100 mL each of Red Sea’s Trace Colours A, B, C and D: A for the halogens iodine, bromine and fluorine, B for potassium and boron, C for iron with seven complementary metals, and D for 18 bioactive trace elements. Together, Red Sea says, they contain the 31 minor and trace elements present in the skeleton and soft tissue of all corals.

Red Sea links each group to a pigment family, A to pink, B to red, C to green and yellow and D to purple and blue, while stressing that every stony coral needs all 31 elements whatever colour it shows, because a pigment can only form when its specific elements are available. The bottles are dosed to a measured requirement: 1 mL of each for every 20 ppm of calcium added per 100 L, with D matched to C, or to iodine, potassium and iron tested with the Trace Colours Pro kit in low-nutrient systems. Red Sea recommends NO3:PO4-X alongside and keeps the four liquids in separate containers.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Nano and small reefs: 100 mL of each lasts a long time on a tank under 100 L.
• SPS coloration: Mixed and SPS-dominant reefs already dosing Foundation elements daily.
• Replacing trace elements: Tanks on infrequent water changes that need minor elements topped up.

Dosing & Administration Guide

• Growth-linked: 1 mL of each bottle per 100 L for every 20 ppm of calcium dosed.
• Or tested: Iodine 0.06 ppm, potassium 400 ppm, total iron 0.15 ppm as reference levels; D follows C.
• Keep them apart: Dose into the sump one at a time; do not combine in a single reservoir.
• Overdose signs: Darkening or tissue regression; water change and halve the doses.
