Red Sea Reef Foundation ABC+ Powder 1kg (SKU: RED300) is Red Sea’s combined foundation supplement, a powder that replenishes calcium, alkalinity and magnesium in the ratio found in coral skeleton, together with strontium, potassium, bromine and iodine. It is for aquariums with balanced consumption of all three elements, where testing shows calcium, alkalinity and magnesium used in the same proportion, so one addition replaces all of them. Red Sea states that 1 g raises the calcium level of 100 L by 1.5 ppm.

Red Sea’s approach is to dose the powder daily or weekly according to the aquarium type and a measured uptake of calcium, with the other elements following in their fixed ratio. When dosing daily, all of the foundation elements are tested weekly and any drift is corrected with the individual Foundation A, B or C supplements; when dosing weekly, testing is monthly. The powder is dissolved in water before it is added so it disperses without settling on rock or sand.
