Seachem Alkaline Buffer 300g

Description

Seachem Alkaline Buffer 300g — Non-Phosphate pH & Carbonate Hardness Stabiliser For Raising pH & Alkalinity of Water In Planted & Freshwater Aquariums

Seachem Alkaline Buffer 300g (SKU: 724987-236) is a non-phosphate buffer designed to raise pH and carbonate hardness (KH) safely in planted and freshwater aquariums. Because phosphate buffers can cause severe algae problems in illuminated planted displays, Alkaline Buffer uses a phosphate-free chemistry to buffer water between 7.2 and 8.5 effectively.

This 300g tub provides long-term buffering for home aquariums using reverse osmosis (RO) water or soft municipal water. When paired with Seachem Acid Buffer, aquarists can establish exact target ratios to replicate natural aquatic environments ranging from acidic community tanks to alkaline river systems.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• RO/DI Water Re-mineralisation: Rebuilds necessary KH in purified water setups.
• pH Maintenance: Prevents natural acidification caused by organic waste breakdown in active aquariums.

Dosing & Application Guide

• Use 1 teaspoon (6 g) per 80 L (20 US gallons) daily to gradually elevate pH and carbonate hardness.
• Blend with Seachem Acid Buffer according to the manufacturer’s ratio chart for specific target pH values.
