Many aquarium plants—such as Cryptocoryne, Echinodorus (Sword plants), and Vallisneria—absorb the majority of their nutrients through their roots rather than from the open water column. Flourish Tablets deposit essential nutrients directly into the substrate where these heavy root-feeding plants need them most. Nutrients are slowly made available through enzymatic action of the plants’ roots on the tablets.
