Description

Seachem Tanganyika Buffer is a specialised buffer formulated to raise and stabilise pH between 9.0 and 9.4 while increasing alkalinity, accurately replicating the natural water chemistry of Lake Tanganyika. It is designed specifically for Lake Tanganyika cichlids, which require hard, highly alkaline water to thrive.

By maintaining stable pH and carbonate hardness (KH), this buffer helps prevent dangerous pH fluctuations, supports proper osmoregulation, enhances natural coloration, and reduces stress in cichlids kept in aquarium environments.

Directions for Use

• Initial Setup:
  Add 5 g (1 level teaspoon) per 40–80 litres of water.
  Lower water volumes produce a stronger pH increase.

• Maintenance / Water Changes:
  Add 5 g per 40–80 litres of new water to maintain stable pH and alkalinity.

Always test pH and KH regularly and adjust dosing as required.
