Description
Dymax Composeal Dark Grey 50G — Dark grey bonding compound for seamless joins in grey stone and rock-built aquascapes
An iwagumi or a stacked rock wall in grey stone loses its effect when every joint is outlined in pale glue residue. Dymax Composeal Dark Grey 50G (SKU: DM172) is the dark grey colour of Dymax’s Composeal Bonding Sponge, a non-toxic, quick-bonding compound that gives a long-lasting, durable and waterproof bond once Dymax Flora glue is added. It is made for bonding the woods and rocks used in aquascaping, terrariums and paludariums, and for filling the gaps between pieces that do not meet cleanly. Dark grey suits slate, grey and blue-grey stone and dark lava-type rock, where a beige or white seam would stand out against the stone.
Dymax designed Composeal to replace tissue paper in the traditional scaping-glue method, and with three natural colours to choose from the finished joint needs no cosmetic touch-up. In use, the two pieces are pressed and held together, the gap is densely filled with Composeal, scaping glue is applied evenly over the Composeal and carried round to the opposite side of the joint, and the bond cures in a few seconds. Flora Scaping Glue (DM743a) is the matching glue and is sold separately. The glue reacts with the compound as it cures, releasing a small amount of smoke and smell, so wear a mask, goggles and gloves and work in a well-ventilated space with a fan. For tall rock structures, bond the base pieces first and build upwards, checking stability before the layout goes into the tank. Composeal is also made in beige (DM158) and brown (DM174).
