Tying moss onto wood with cotton thread works, but it is slow, the thread shows for weeks and epiphytes on a vertical face tend to slip. Dymax Flora Scaping Glue 20g Bottle (SKU: DM743a) is Dymax’s liquid scaping adhesive for aquascapes, terrariums and paludariums, made to attach moss and plants to rocks and wood and to bond hardscape materials to one another. It cures within seconds and gives the plant firm support while it roots, and because it bonds to wood, rock and even gravel, plants can be placed exactly where they look natural rather than where a thread will hold them. The 20 g bottle dispenses through a nozzle, which keeps each application small and placed where it is needed.

Dymax’s directions are short: dispense a small amount of glue onto the chosen spot on a dry surface, press the plant or material firmly in place for a few seconds until it cures, then wipe excess glue from the nozzle before replacing the cap so the bottle does not seal itself shut. Dry surfaces matter, so lift wood or stone out of the water and pat the area dry before gluing, or work on hardscape before the tank is filled. A thin line of glue under the rhizome is enough for Anubias, Bucephalandra and ferns; burying the rhizome in glue is not needed. For moss, a few small dots across the surface hold a thin layer in place. Flora Scaping Glue is also the glue Dymax pairs with its Composeal Bonding Sponge (DM158, DM174, DM172 and the marine purple DM870), which is packed into hardscape joints and then set with this glue to give a waterproof, colour-matched bond.
