An automatic CO2 system is only as accurate as the pH reading driving it, and a drifting electrode either starves plants of CO2 or quietly overdoses the tank while the display still looks normal. Jbl Proflora Co2 Ph Sensor Set (SKU: 112901) is JBL’s replacement pH electrode and calibration kit for its ProFlora CO2 Control unit and other pH measuring or dosing devices fitted with a BNC connector, with each unit individually tested and shipped with its own test report. The set supplies the sensor itself plus everything needed to calibrate, clean and maintain it, rather than the bare electrode alone.

Included in the set: a 2 m cable fixed to the electrode for routing from the controller to the tank, 2 suction cups to hold the electrode in the aquarium, 3 cuvettes, and 50 mL each of storage solution, distilled water and calibration liquid at pH 7.0 and pH 4.0. JBL recommends recalibrating the electrode every 30 to 45 days, using a temperature sensor at the same time since pH readings shift with temperature; on a healthy electrode the reading should stay within about 0.02 to 0.05 pH of the calibration standard, and the voltage difference measured between the pH 7.0 and pH 4.0 solutions should sit above roughly 140 to 150 mV. If the controller shows an instability warning, JBL’s advice is to clean the sensor head and leave it soaking in the storage solution for 24 hours before calibrating again; an electrode that still will not settle is due for replacement, typically needed every two years of use.
