Most planted tanks sold are between 30 and 50 cm tall, and that is where a short pair of tweezers stops reaching and a very long pair starts to wobble. Stainless steel Planters; Curve 38cm (SKU: SS38CP) are 38 cm curved aquascaping tweezers in stainless steel, the mid-length tool in the range. They are used to plant, move and remove aquatic plants and to clear debris, with a curved tip that angles towards the substrate so the hand works from above the waterline and outside the field of view.

At 38 cm, the tweezers reach the substrate in tanks of roughly 35 to 45 cm water depth with the hand still above the surface, which covers most 60 and 90 cm standard aquariums. The curve is useful in the midground and foreground, where plants are pushed in at an angle and the hand would otherwise cast a shadow or block the view: carpet clumps, small rosette plants, cuttings of stem plants and moss tucked into wood. They are also suited to rearranging plants that have drifted or floated up after a water change, and to lifting dead leaves and uneaten food out from between stems. Hold the plant by its root or base at the very tip, insert at an angle, open and draw back. The stainless steel stands up to daily wet use; rinse after every session, especially after fertiliser dosing, and dry before storing so the tips stay aligned.
