Getting a live Ludwigia to turn red takes bright light, iron and often CO₂, and the colour fades within weeks if any of them slips. Ecoscape Large Ludwigia Brevipes Red (SKU: 28278) is a Large artificial plant in Aqua One’s Ecoscape range, made in red to the pattern of Ludwigia brevipes, the stem plant with narrow, needle-like leaves. Ecoscape Large plants are listed by Australian retailers at about 30 cm tall. It stands on a weighted base, so there is no need to bury it deep, and it can be lifted and moved whenever the tank is rearranged.

Thirty centimetres is background height for a tank of about 35 to 45 cm, and in a shallower aquarium it fills a back corner. Fine red leaves contrast with broad green foliage and dark wood, and two or three stems together look like a natural cluster.
