Ecoscape Large Wide Liquorice Fern Pink/hottonia Green

Description

Ecoscape Large Wide Liquorice Fern Pink/hottonia Green — Wide pink and green combination plant for a background feature

A larger aquarium needs one or two anchor pieces that catch the eye from across the room, and a single narrow plant gets lost against a long back glass. Ecoscape Large Wide Liquorice Fern Pink/hottonia Green (SKU: 28265) is a Large Wide combination plant from Aqua One’s Ecoscape artificial range, pairing pink liquorice fern fronds with green foliage styled on Hottonia, the feathery-leaved water plant, in one broad clump. The Wide format spreads across more of the tank than a standard plant, and the whole arrangement stands on a single weighted base.

Pink against green is the contrast that red and pink live plants are used for, and here it comes ready-arranged in a piece that holds its colour without strong lighting or iron dosing. Aqua One does not publish a separate height for the Large Wide designs; standard Ecoscape Large plants are listed by Australian retailers at about 30 cm, so this suits the background or a rear corner of tanks roughly 60 cm long and up. Aqua One describes Ecoscape plants as non-toxic and aquarium safe, needing no special lighting, pruning or supplements, safe with destructive fish such as cichlids, and easy to remove and clean. The fronds and feathery leaves give fish places to shelter, and nothing in the clump decays into the water or needs trimming back as it would in a live planting. Placed off-centre, with plainer green plants around it, it becomes the focal point of the scape. The range is listed for coldwater, tropical and marine tanks; rinse thoroughly in tap water before use.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Focal point: A pink and green feature for the back of a larger tank.
• Colour without high light: Pink tones that do not depend on lighting or iron.
• Goldfish and cichlids: Colour and cover that fish cannot eat or uproot.
• Feature corners: Fills a rear corner with one wide piece.

Placement & Care Guide

• Wash before use: Rinse thoroughly in tap water, no detergents.
• Off-centre placement: Set it to one side for a natural focal point.
