Ecoscape Medium Fan Palm Green

Description

Ecoscape Medium Fan Palm Green — Palm-style artificial plant with fanned fronds for a tropical look

Not every aquascape is trying to copy a river bed; some tanks are meant to look like a tropical island, and a palm shape says that instantly. Ecoscape Medium Fan Palm Green (SKU: 28274) is an Aqua One Ecoscape artificial plant with palm-style fronds that fan out from a central point, finished in green and set on a weighted base. It is a decorative design rather than a copy of a true aquatic plant, so it brings a distinct, broad-leaved outline that stands apart from fine-leaved stem plants. Retailers list the Medium Fan Palm at 20 cm tall, a mid-ground height for most home aquariums.

Aqua One states that Ecoscape plants need no special lighting, supplements or pruning, are safe with destructive fish such as cichlids, carry no risk of introducing pests or parasites, and do not decay, so they hold their shape longer than live plants. The weighted base makes placement easy, and the plant lifts straight out for cleaning. The fanned fronds give fish broad cover to rest under and break up the view across the tank, which helps territorial species settle. At 20 cm it suits the mid-ground of a 60 cm tank, the back of a smaller tank, or a beach or island theme alongside light sand and ornaments. The Fan Palm is also sold in red, and Aqua One lists it for coldwater and freshwater tropical aquariums. Each plant may vary slightly from the photo. A tank planted only with artificial plants has nothing taking up nitrate, so steady partial water changes matter more for keeping algae off the broad fronds.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Tropical island themes: A palm outline with light sand and beach-style ornaments.

• Coldwater and tropical tanks: Greenery for goldfish and community tanks alike.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse first: Tap water only, never soap or chemicals.
• Give it space: Leave room around it so the fan shape is not hidden by other plants.
