Live Hygrophila grows fast, and within a few weeks a tidy mid-ground clump can be shading everything planted in front of it. Ecoscape Medium Hygro Green (SKU: 28277) is the Medium size of Aqua One’s Ecoscape Hygro, a plastic artificial plant styled on Hygrophila, the stem plant sold live as “Hygro” for its upright stems and long, broad green leaves. Australian retailer listings give Ecoscape Medium plants a height of about 20 cm. It stands on a weighted base, so it can be placed, moved or lifted out without burying anything deep in the gravel, and it never grows past the height it is bought at.

Aqua One describes Ecoscape plants as non-toxic, aquarium-safe plastic that needs no special lighting, supplements or pruning, and the range is sold as safe with destructive fish such as cichlids.
