Ecoscape Small Ambulia Green

Description

Ecoscape Small Ambulia Green — Low feathery artificial stem plant for the front of the aquascape

Live Ambulia grows so quickly that a neat foreground clump turns into a tangle of stems within weeks, and keeping it short means trimming every water change. Ecoscape Small Ambulia Green (SKU: 28266) is the smallest size of Aqua One’s Ecoscape Ambulia, an artificial plastic plant modelled on Limnophila sessiliflora, the stem plant known for its whorls of fine, feathery green leaves. Retailer listings put Ecoscape Small plants at about 10 cm tall, so this one stays low in the front of the tank and never needs cutting back. It stands on a weighted base, so it can be set in place or moved without being buried deep in the gravel.

Aqua One states that Ecoscape plants need no special lighting, supplements or pruning, are safe with destructive fish such as cichlids, carry no risk of introducing pests or parasites, and hold their shape longer than live plants because they do not decay. At 10 cm, the Small works as the front row of a graded planting: two or three in front of the Medium (SKU 28276) and Large (SKU 28284) Ambulia give the stepped look of a trimmed stem-plant group. It also suits nano and betta tanks, where a single Small fills a corner without crowding the swimming space. The fine leaves give fry and small fish cover near the substrate. The range is sold for coldwater and tropical tanks, and some Australian retailers also list marine use; each plant varies slightly from the photo.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Foreground planting: A low clump of green in front of taller stems or hardscape.
• Nano and betta tanks: Greenery at a scale that suits a small aquarium.
• Cichlid and goldfish tanks: Plant cover that diggers and grazers cannot destroy.
• Low-light set-ups: Green foliage without lighting, CO₂ or fertiliser.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse first: Rinse under tap water before use; never use soap or detergent.
• Set the base: Press the weighted base into the gravel so the plant stands upright.
• Group in odd numbers: Three Smalls read as a natural clump rather than a row.
• Clean as needed: Lift out and brush off algae under running water during maintenance.
