Ecoscape Small Rana Digitos Green/purple

Description

Ecoscape Small Rana Digitos Green/purple — Green and purple foreground combo plant on one weighted base

Purple is a rare colour among aquarium plants, and the few live plants that show it are usually demanding about light. Ecoscape Small Rana Digitos Green/purple (SKU: 28267) is a Small combination plant from Aqua One’s Ecoscape artificial range, setting green and purple foliage together on one weighted base. Australian retailers list Ecoscape Small plants at about 10 cm tall, and Aqua One describes its small combo designs as intended for foreground planting. It is a single piece that can be placed or moved in seconds.

Two colours on one base give an instant contrast at the front of the tank, where the purple shows up against green plants and pale gravel. At about 10 cm it stays low enough to keep the view clear, and it suits nano and betta tanks as a single accent. Aqua One suggests adding medium and large plants behind small ones for mid-ground and background, so this is designed to sit as the front highlight of a larger planting. One or two pieces are usually enough; a whole row of purple tends to overpower the green behind it and flatten the sense of depth. The Ecoscape range is described as non-toxic and aquarium safe, needing no special lighting, pruning or supplements, safe with destructive fish such as cichlids, and easy to remove and clean. The plastic foliage does not decay, so it adds nothing to the bioload and brings in no pests. It also gives small fish a place to hide near the substrate. The range is listed for coldwater, tropical and marine tanks, and the maker’s direction is to wash and rinse thoroughly in tap water before use.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Purple accent: A colour few live aquarium plants can supply.
• Front of the tank: A low highlight ahead of green mid-ground plants.
• Betta and nano tanks: Colour at a scale that suits small aquariums.
• Kids’ aquariums: Bright, robust decor with nothing to maintain.

Placement & Care Guide

• Rinse first: Wash thoroughly in tap water; no soap.
• Use as a highlight: One or two among green plants rather than a whole row.
• Pale substrate: Light sand or gravel makes the purple read clearly.
• Clean as needed: Lift out and brush off algae under running water.
