Ecoscape Xlarge Ludwigia Green

Description

Ecoscape Xlarge Ludwigia Green — 40 cm artificial Ludwigia to fill the back of deeper tanks

Tall live stem plants need strong light reaching the substrate and weekly topping to stay tidy, and in a deep tank they often go bare at the bottom. Ecoscape Xlarge Ludwigia Green (SKU: 28291) is the tallest size of Aqua One’s Ecoscape Ludwigia, a plastic plant styled on the Ludwigia stem plant, with rounded green leaves running the full height of each stem. Ecoscape Xlarge plants are listed at about 40 cm. A weighted base keeps it upright in gravel or sand, and it stays the same height and fullness from the day it goes in.

Forty centimetres is background height for aquariums of roughly 45 cm tall and more; in shallower tanks it will reach the surface, and the Medium (SKU 28275, 20 cm) is the better choice there. In a deep tank the Xlarge covers the back glass, screens heaters and filter intakes, and gives the scene vertical structure behind lower plants. Grade it with the Medium in the middle and the Small (SKU 28250, about 10 cm) at the front for a continuous bank of one leaf style. Aqua One describes Ecoscape plants as non-toxic and aquarium safe, needing no special lighting, pruning or supplements, and safe with destructive fish such as cichlids, which is where a tall artificial stem plant earns its place. It does not decay, drop leaves or go bare at the base the way tall live stems do in deep water, is easy to remove and clean, and is listed for coldwater, tropical and marine aquariums. Rinse thoroughly in tap water before use.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Tall aquariums: Back-row planting for tanks about 45 cm tall or deeper.
• Hiding hardware: A green screen in front of heaters and intakes.
• Large cichlids: Height that big fish cannot uproot or shred.
• Display tanks: Instant vertical structure behind mid-ground plants.

Placement & Care Guide

• Measure first: Check that 40 cm clears the waterline in the tank.
• Wash before use: Rinse thoroughly in tap water, no cleaners.
• Back and sides: Place along the rear glass or in corners to frame the tank.
• Clean the leaves: Rinse off algae under running water during maintenance.
