Ecoscape Xlarge Rotala Purple

Description

Ecoscape Xlarge Rotala Purple — Tallest artificial purple Rotala for deep aquariums and feature corners

In a deep aquarium, light fades before it reaches the bottom, so live Rotala tends to stay coloured only at the very top while the lower stems go bare. Ecoscape Xlarge Rotala Purple (SKU: 28288) is the tallest size of Aqua One’s Ecoscape Rotala, a plastic artificial plant with fine purple leaves packed along each stem from base to tip, styled on the coloured Rotala stem plants. Ecoscape Xlarge plants are listed at about 40 cm. A weighted base holds that height upright on gravel or sand without deep planting, and the plant can be moved whenever the scape changes.

At about 40 cm it suits aquariums roughly 45 cm tall and deeper, where it reaches well up towards the surface and gives the back of the tank vertical colour. In a shallower tank it may touch the waterline, and the Large (SKU 28279, about 30 cm) or Medium (SKU 28271, about 20 cm) will fit better; together, the three sizes grade the same purple from mid-ground to rear glass. A single Xlarge also works as a feature in a back corner, framed by green plants either side. Aqua One describes Ecoscape plants as non-toxic and aquarium safe, needing no special lighting, pruning or supplements, safe with destructive fish such as cichlids, and easy to remove and clean. It never loses colour or leaves, and needs nothing beyond a rinse when algae settles on the fine foliage. The range is listed for coldwater, tropical and marine aquariums, and the maker’s direction is to wash and rinse it thoroughly in tap water before use.
