Plastic Plant 3pk Mix 1

Description

Plastic Plant 3pk Mix 1 — Three assorted EcoScape plastic plants with weighted bases for coldwater and tropical tanks

Live plants need light, fertiliser and patience, and goldfish treat many of them as food; plastic plants simply stay as they are. Plastic Plant 3pk Mix 1 (SKU: 24229) is a three-pack of assorted artificial plants from Aqua One’s EcoScape plastic plant range, sold by the maker as EcoScape Plastic Plant 3pk Mix 1. Each plant has a weighted base, which Aqua One says makes aquascaping easy, and the mix gives three different plants in one pack so a planting looks varied rather than repeated. Aqua One states that the plants enhance the look of any aquarium, give fish and other aquatic life a place to hide, have fine details with unique colours and shapes, and are non-toxic and aquarium safe.

The maker rates the pack for coldwater and tropical aquariums, so it suits goldfish tanks, community tanks and fish such as cichlids and silver dollars that uproot or eat live plants. The weighted bases stand on the substrate as supplied, and pushing each base a little way into gravel or sand hides it and keeps the plant upright when fish brush through. Plastic plants need no special lighting, CO₂ or fertiliser, so they suit tanks with basic lights and owners who want a planted look without the upkeep. Aqua One also makes EcoScape Plastic Plant 3pk Mix 2 (24230), the EcoScape 3pk Medium Mix (28536) and the Large Mix (28537), which can be combined with this pack to fill a bigger tank. Algae collects on plastic leaves over time; lift the plants out at a water change, scrub them under warm water with a soft brush and put them back, with no soap or detergent.
