Cabinet floor space is the scarcest thing under a reef tank, and a top-off reservoir usually takes the most of it. Red Sea Reefcan 18ltr (SKU: RED441) is Red Sea’s ReefCan 18, a tall, slim transparent RO water reservoir that uses the height of the cabinet instead of its floor. At 55 cm high, 9 cm wide and 44 cm deep it holds 18 L in a footprint narrow enough to stand beside the sump, and Red Sea’s summary is more RO water for less valuable floor space. An embedded water-level scale on the clear body shows how much is left at a glance.

It has a front opening for refilling in place, a rear opening for the ATO pump, tubing and cables that takes any pump up to 5.8 cm across, and a cap that holds the ReefATO+ siphon breaker while suiting any other ATO. Red Sea rates 18 L as about a week of top-off for a 200 L tank. It fits REEFER G2 and G2+ 170 and up and most MAX models, but not the REEFER MAX 170 and 200 G2+, Desktop Cube or MAX Nano Cube. The 40 L ReefCan (RED442) serves larger tanks.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Tanks around 200 L: About a week of top-off water between refills.
• Tight cabinets: REEFER 170 and 200 and other stands where a square jerry can will not fit beside the sump.
• ReefATO+ users: The cap holds the ReefATO+ siphon breaker.
• Any ATO: Fits any top-off pump up to 5.8 cm across.

Installation Guide

• Position: Stand the can upright beside the sump, scale facing out, on a level surface.
• Fit the pump: Lower the ATO pump through the rear opening and route tubing and cable through the same port.
• Fill: Pour RO water through the front opening to the scale mark; refill the same way without moving the can.
• Check weekly: Read the level against the scale and top up before the pump runs dry.
