Constructed from porous ceramic rings, it provides an expansive surface area for beneficial nitrifying bacteria to colonise. BIOMAX nodes feature a complex pore system where beneficial bacteria can easily establish and flourish. The media shape is specifically designed to permit even water distribution, which prolongs contact time over a wider area for effective biological filtration.

This biological media helps maintain a healthy bio-filter by continuously breaking down toxic ammonia and nitrite into harmless nitrate, ensuring a stable, non-toxic environment for fresh and saltwater aquatic life.

Usage & Application

When to Use

• Biological Filtration: Essential for establishing and maintaining biological filtration in new or mature aquariums.

• Routine Replacement: Replace partially every 2 to 3 months to maintain maximum bacterial colonisation efficiency.

How to Use / Installation Process

1. Rinse the BioMax media pouch under temperature-controlled aquarium water (never hot or tap water) to clear loose dust.

2. Insert the media pouch into the middle or upper level of the AquaClear filter basket above mechanical foam.

3. Replace half of the BioMax quantity during routine replacement cycles to preserve active beneficial bacterial colonies. For best results, replace every 3 months
