Fluval Select Premium Carbon (SKU: FA60) is a high-grade activated chemical filter media designed to absorb liquid organic pollutants, foul odours, and unsightly discolouration from aquarium water. Featuring low-ash, highly porous bituminous activated carbon granules, it rapidly binds dissolved compounds, leaving water polished and crystal clear. This premium, low-ash and highly porous carbon is highly effective at removing heavy metals, odours, discolourations, organic contaminants and pollutants from aquarium water.

Usage & Application

When to Use

  • Water Polishing & Odour Control: Use continuously in chemical trays to keep water transparent and free of fishy odours.

  • Post-Treatment Cleanup: Insert immediately after completing fish medication schedules to absorb residual chemicals.

  • Toxin Removal: Absorbs heavy metals, phenols, and dissolved organic compounds.

How to Use

  1. Place desired volume of loose carbon into a fine mesh media bag.

  2. Rinse thoroughly under tap water until runoff is completely clear to prevent carbon dust from clouding the aquarium.

  3. Position in the chemical filtration section of canister filters, power filters, or sumps.

  4. For best results, replace every 4 weeks(monthly) when activated carbon becomes fully saturated over time.
