The Fluval U2 Poly/Carbon Cartridge 2 Pack (SKU: PF132b) is a dual-action chemical and mechanical replacement media set formulated for the central chamber of the Fluval U2 Internal Filter. Each cartridge features a fine polyester weave side that traps microscopic floating particles, paired with research-grade activated carbon that absorbs dissolved organic toxins, foul odours, and unsightly water discolouration.

Using genuine replacement cartridges keeps aquarium water optically crystal clear while removing harmful contaminants, heavy metals, and residual aquarium medications.

Usage & Application

When to Use

  • Chemical Detoxification: Ideal for removing yellowing water tints, odours, and dissolved organic compounds.

  • Post-Medication Clearance: Install after completing disease treatments to clear residual medication from tank water.

How to Use / Installation Processs

  1. Disconnect power to the U2 filter and lift the top lid open.

  2. Pull out the central media frame and discard the exhausted poly/carbon cartridge.

  3. Rinse the new cartridge under cold tap water to remove carbon dust.

  4. Slide the new cartridge into the central frame slot with the blue poly side facing outward.
