Mantis Filter Cup 4″ – Ms-013 (SKU: MA069801) is a 4 inch filter media cup built as a versatile, cost-effective alternative to disposable filter socks. Rather than being limited to mechanical filtration, the cup can be packed with filter floss, ceramic media, activated carbon, GFO or any other loose biological or chemical media, so one cup does the job of several single-purpose socks. Slots moulded into the base of the cup direct water flow down through whatever media is loaded, instead of letting it bypass around the sides.

A media bag is included with the cup, letting finer or looser media such as carbon or GFO be bagged separately inside the cup rather than spilling loose through the slotted base, while coarser media like floss or ceramic pieces can sit directly in the cup if preferred. Because the cup is reusable rather than disposable, the running cost over time is lower than buying replacement socks, and the media inside can be swapped out independently of the cup itself, so carbon can be refreshed without discarding the whole unit.
