AbsoluteUltra Clear Pond UV Steriliser; 36W (SKU: UCP36) is the 36 W model in Absolute’s Ultra Clear range of pond and aquarium UV clarifiers, built around a quartz-sleeved UV-C lamp and a turbulent vortex flow path inside the housing that is designed to maximise exposure time as water passes the lamp, so algae cells and free-floating microorganisms take a fuller dose of UV before they come back out. The unit mounts horizontally in the pump’s return line, between the pump and the pond or filter outlet, and is rated for ponds and aquarium systems up to a recommended maximum flow of 6,000 L/h at this wattage.

Water enters and is forced into a spiral path around the quartz sleeve, lengthening its path past the UV-C lamp rather than letting it run straight through, which is what the vortex design is for. A viewing window on the housing lets the lamp’s glow be checked at a glance to confirm it is still lit, without opening the unit, and a built-in UVC cut-out microswitch disconnects power to the lamp automatically when the housing is opened for servicing, so there is no risk of direct UV exposure during a lamp change.
