The Fluval AquaClear Hang-On Filter AC20 (SKU: FAQ01, formerly AquaClear 20) is a versatile power filter designed for small aquariums from 18 litres up to 76 litres (20 US gallons). Known for its large filtration volume and reusable basket system, the AC20 utilises a 3-stage mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration process. With a capacity of flow rate of 379 litres per hour (LPH), it features patented flow control to protect delicate fish while delivering advanced 4-stage filtration; the filter ensures crystal clear water and a healthy aquarium environment.

The filter uses a combination of mechanical, chemical and biological filtration (2 x mechanical), which effectively removes dirt, odours and debris while preserving beneficial bacteria. Thanks to the CycleGuard system, filter media can be replaced independently, protecting the nitrogen cycle and maintaining the biological balance of the aquarium.

The patented refiltration system extends the contact time between water and filter media, providing better filtration, more stable water quality and a healthier aquarium environment. Chemical filter media is easily accessible straight from the top, so you avoid taking out the filter basket – less mess and easier maintenance. Usage & Application

How to Use

1. Assemble the intake U-tube, levelling device, and filter media basket inside the filter body.

2. Load media layers into the basket: Foam (bottom), Activated Carbon (middle), BioMax (top).

3. Hang the filter onto the rear rim of the aquarium and adjust the levelling dial.

4. Fill the filter chamber with aquarium water (prime) before plugging into the electrical outlet.
